Seborrhoeic Dermatitis
What is Seborrhoeic Dermatitis?
Seborrhoeic dermatitis is a common skin condition affecting infants, children and adults.
In babies, it is usually seen as cradle cap.
In older children and adults, it often presents with.
- Dandruff (flaky scalp).
- Flaky red skin on the eyebrows, around the nose, behind or inside the ears or through the beard.
- Sensitive red rash in the armpits or groin.
Treatments for this condition are predominantly skin-directed (topical) and include medicated cream, lotions and shampoos.
Sensitive skin may be an issue in people with seborrheic dermatitis and a consultation in our Skin Care Basics specialty clinic can help provide guidance on product selection.
