What is a dermatologist and what conditions do dermatologists treat?
Dermatologists specialise in diseases of the skin, nails and hair – with common conditions they treat including acne, eczema, skin infections, mole checks, skin cancers and cosmetic skin issues. For a full list of the conditions we treat see our conditions overview here.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
- A current referral from your doctor or specialist
- Previous imaging or correspondence related to your condition including any blood tests or other reports
- A list of your medications and allergies (including natural preparations such as fish oil and turmeric)
What if my appointment runs overtime?
We kindly request your cooperation in adhering to our appointment policy to facilitate smooth and efficient operations. Punctual appointments benefit everyone involved and reflect courtesy and respect towards all patients.
It’s important to note that the allocated time for a standard consultation is typically appropriate for addressing a single skin issue effectively. If you have complex problems or additional concerns to discuss, it may not be feasible to address them fully within the same consultation. In such cases, we recommend scheduling a separate appointment to ensure sufficient time for comprehensive discussion and appropriate medical care.
Please be advised that consultations exceeding the standard appointment duration (typically 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes) will be subject to an extended consultation fee.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. By adhering to these guidelines, we can provide the best possible care for all our patients.
Why is my appointment running late?
Every patient and problem encountered is distinct, and our Dermatologist is faced with various needs regarding what each pateint requires. While we strive to maintain timely appointments, delays can occur and are at times unavoidable. If your appointment experiences a delay, we sincerely appreciate your understanding, as it is likely due to a patient with more critical medical needs receiving extended attention.
We value the kindness and respect you demonstrate towards our staff and fellow patients at all times. To address any concerns about appointment timing, we kindly request that you contact us 45 minutes before your scheduled appointment to inquire about any potential delays.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration. Your support and cooperation is appreciated.

What is your cancellation policy?
Due to the extreemly high demand for myPRODERM Dermatologist care, appointment availability tends to be fully booked, and missed appointments prevent us from assisting other patients in need. If you find that you no longer require your scheduled appointment, we kindly request that you contact us to cancel or reschedule. Similar to other businesses, our humble practice incurs significant staff overheads and running costs, which includes accounting for the non-attendance of booked appointments.
In consideration of these factors, a fee of $90+GST may be charged for missed appointments or last-minute cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Cancelling within 24 hours or not attending your appointment on the day a fee of $135+GST may be charged.
Please note that, in most cases, a replacement appointment will not be offered until the cancellation fee has been paid.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. By promptly notifying us of any changes to your appointment status, you contribute to the efficient use of our resources and enable us to provide optimal care to all our patients.
